In 1981 Perma-Chink Systems (PCS) introduced flexible chinking to the log home industry to replace what was the standard at the time - concrete mortar. This revolutionary product, Perma-Chink Log Home Chinking, looked like authentic mortar but stretched and flexed to accommodate log movement while maintaining a tight seal for the life of the house.
Although PCS is the largest manufacturer of log home chinking and sealants, we make a complete line of quality wood care products. Wood Finishes, Wood Preservatives, Wood Cleaners and Restoration Products all are Made in the U.S.A.

History of Perma-Chink Systems in Knoxville, TN.
Perma-Chink Systems was incorporated in 1981, in Redmond, Washington. Actual production of Perma-Chink was started in 1983, in a 5,000 sq. ft. facility on Prosser Road in Knoxville, TN. This small facility produced, warehoused, and shipped our first product, Perma-Chink, and had a total of three employees; one production and shipping worker, an office manager, and the main manager.
Before long, it was deemed undersized for storage of finished goods, raw materials, and other incidentals needed to produce our product. A large tent was rented to be able to store pails, chemicals, and other items outside to enable us to purchase in larger quantities to meet the needs of the industry. Before too long we realized that too was undersized and inefficient; so in 1987, we moved across the street into a 20,000 sq. ft. facility where all of our products are currently manufactured.

Terry Knight - CEO
Terry’s journey with PCS began in 2010 at our Knoxville, TN office, where she started as part of the inside sales team. Her drive and dedication quickly led her to take on responsibilities in special log and timber home sales programs and log home dealer relations. She went on to serve as the Knoxville Branch Sales Manager for five years, a role in which she consistently demonstrated strong leadership, a deep commitment to customer service, and a genuine passion for the log and timber home industry.
In 2019, Terry was promoted to National Director of Branch Sales & Operations, where she played a critical role in strengthening PCS’s national presence and operational excellence. In June 2025, Terry was announced as PCS' CEO, taking over for Randy Adamson who transitioned to a part-time advisor and emeritus position.

Epoxy Wood Putty
E-Wood is a putty-like, non-shrinking, epoxy filler used to fill in missing sections of logs or dimensional wood members. E-Wood will form a permanent bond to most rigid surfaces. Porous surfaces should always be treated with a compatible, low viscosity epoxy system such as M-Balm.
Use E-Wood to replace missing sections of window sills, frames, furniture, or any wood structure. Use it to add new sections to completed structures.
After repair with E-Wood, restored wood can be shaped with your normal wood working tools, including saws, sanders, planes, routers and drills.

I'm a log homeowner who stands behind Perma-Chink's chinking, Lifeline stains, Advance topcoat, Log End Seal, Energy Seal, and every other product offered. My logs are hand-hewed with the original style chinking so we used I think 25 pails of chinking and none of it has failed. The chinking is tops, stain is very durable and easy to apply. The entire staff at Perma-Chink Systems always goes the extra mile when I call and ask questions or for advice. Perma-Chink has the best customer service of any company period in all types of industries I interact with. Unbelievable!!
