Energy Seal

Textured Log Cabin Sealer

Energy Seal is one of the most popular members of our sealant family and is sometimes referred to as a textured log caulk. Unlike many multi-purpose caulks, our sealants are formulated specifically for log and timber homes and the demands of exterior exposure.

This log cabin sealer works on milled and scribed log homes, log siding homes, and common joinery areas such as butt joints, window trim, door trim, and corners. A single application helps create a weather-tight seal that can improve the energy efficiency of your home.

It has excellent adhesion and flexibility. Unlike shiny, artificial-looking caulks, it features a light texture that complements the appearance of wood. Our energy seal caulk tools easily to a smooth, professional finish and blends naturally into log walls after application.

It also blends with the color of wood finishes, helping sealed joints become less noticeable. In many cases, the seams are difficult to spot once the product has been applied and finished.

How to Store

Keep unopened product in a dry location. Stable environments will lessen the impact of extreme temperatures. Once opened, reseal the container. Be proactive to prevent unexpected drying.

Application Process

  1. Clean dirt, dust, and loose material from surfaces.
  2. Let the area dry before application.
  3. Apply Energy Seal caulk to joints, seams, or gaps that require sealing.
  4. Tool the material smooth before a surface skin develops.
  5. Allow adequate curing time before exposing the area to heavy moisture.

Maintenance

After usage, clean your tools. Remove drips and buildup from the rim and reseal containers promptly. Doing so will preserve unused log cabin sealer for future touch-ups.

(Ex. 2.5 not 2 1/2)
(Ex. 2000 not 2,000)

Size Conversion Rates (approx.)

5 Gallon Pail = 1

11oz Tubes = 51 per pail

Example: If the calculator shows you need .7 pails of Energy Seal, that is thirteen 30oz tubes (.7×18.5=12.95) or thirty-six 11oz tubes (.7×50.5=35.35).

What a cool product! I was very nervous to apply it by myself and I had a contractor lined up to give me a bid. Brad from the Redmond store gave me great instructions and I was able to chink my entire home! Easy product, no smell, no grease, no muss, no fuss.

Excellent products, easy to use, great tutorials, and extremely fast shipping!!! I decided to tackle sealing and refinishing my entire log home myself after getting quotes for over $30,000. It has taken months, but with a little work each week, it is nearly complete. Awesome company in my book!!!

There wasn’t much of a learning curve with Perma-Chink. I was able to apply it easily enough. I just put some on our cabin last week and it matches our 30-year-old chinking very well. The parts that I applied last year have dried solid. This is a great product. It doesn’t really have an odor. Next summer I am doing part of the interior.
