Transparent Wood Finish

Our original exterior wall formula has been updated and improved for over 20 years. Lifeline Exterior forms a thin film at the surface of logs where the protection is needed.

Its breathability and flexibility allows logs to go through seasonal expansion and contraction while drying out to their core. Apply a clear topcoat of Lifeline Advance to maximize durability and minimize maintenance cost and labor.

This advanced waterborne formula enriches the look of natural wood grain and protects against damaging UV rays from the sun. Textured Latex Paint for Perma-Chink Log Chinking

Chink-Paint is an elastomeric, textured coating for renewing or changing the color of chinking. This makes it ideal for giving a facelift to your home by brightening the appearance of old, dirty chinking or altering the color of existing chinking.

Chink-Paint’s elasticity enables it to expand and contract with Perma-Chink or Energy Seal without cracking or peeling.

Log Check Sealant

Check Mate 2 is an outstanding water resistant sealant that prevents water and air infiltration through pronounced cracks (called checks) in logs, timbers and wood siding. Caulking is an obvious solution to this problem, but caulking does not work because of limits in adhesion and weatherability.

It is especially important to seal upward facing checks in any location where they may accumulate water. If these checks are left unsealed, they become sites where rot may begin to take hold. If you have old checks where rot is a risk, be sure to apply Shell-Guard before sealing with Check Mate 2.

Smooth Log Caulk

Woodsman is a high performance, elastic sealant for general use around your house.  It can be used during construction between logs, in butt-joints, around windows, doors, woodwork, eaves, soffits, vents and expansion joints.

Woodsman cures to form a highly stretchable seal that is UV resistant, water tight and air tight. It adheres to all materials including wood, metal, glass, concrete, masonry, tile, marble and glass.

Woodsman is easy to apply using standard caulk application equipment. Its extended shelf life makes those jobs that take longer than expected more manageable. Since Woodsman cleans up with just soap and water, job site labor costs are decreased.

Textured Log Sealant

Energy Seal is one of the most popular members of our sealant family, and is sometimes referred to as a textured log caulk. Our sealants are specifically designed for use on log and timber homes, where most caulking is multi-purpose and ill-suited for the harsh enviroment of exterior use. Energy Seal was created to seal milled or scribed log homes, log siding homes and around joinery such as butt-joints, window trim, door trim and corners. One application makes any log wall completely weather-tight, which increases energy efficiency of your home.  

Energy Seal has excellent adhesion and stretch. It is not affected by ultraviolet rays, is resistant to most chemicals, salt spray, mold and mildew, and has low thermal conductivity. 

Most people call log sealants “caulk” but we try to refer to them as “sealants” to help differentiate high quality products from cheap caulks that can be bought at any hardware store. Unlike commonly used caulks which look shiny and artificial, Energy Seal is textured to match the visual characteristics of wood. It easily tools to a smooth, professional finish, virtually disappearing into the walls after it's applied. It softens the lines on log walls and accepts the color of wood finishes. In fact, Energy Seal so closely matches your walls, most people can't tell the seams are sealed.
