Chink Paint
Textured Chinking Paint Colors for Log Homes
The joints between logs dramatically impact a home’s appearance. Chink-Paint gives existing Perma-Chink or Energy Seal a fresh finish. It covers marks left by wood staining and lets you change the color without replacing the sealant.
The textured finish resembles Perma-Chink. Eight shades are available, from White and Light Gray to Tan and Brown. Chink-Paint stretches as the joints move, so the coating resists cracking and peeling.

Chink-Paint can save time and money by eliminating the need to mask off the chinking before staining. The process is simple. Wait for the stain to dry, then apply a coat of Chink-Paint in the desired color.

How to Store
Chink-Paint has a three-year shelf life. Keep the pail closed between projects. Store it where the remaining product will not freeze. Optimal temperatures help chinking paint colors maintain vibrancy. Avoid unheated garages or sheds through winter.
For future touch-ups or projects, check the purchase date before you proceed. A half-used pail might sit for years when you miss annual inspections.
Application Process
The first step is to make sure the product is well mixed. Chinking paint contains a blend of raw material ingredients. Uniform dispersion ensures proper color, adhesion, and long-term performance.
Chink-Paint is best applied with a paintbrush. Choose fairly stiff bristles that are two to three inches long. Log chinking paint colors can stain surfaces, so keep a wet rag handy. Lastly, clean up with soap and water.
