PenaShield Clear Wood Preservative

Ready-to-Use Borate-Based Wood Treatment

Log homes are expensive to repair. Protection from the start lowers the risk of extensive damage later. Borate-based preservatives give bare wood another layer of defense against insects and decay.

PenaShield is great for treating decks, fencing, woodworking projects, wooden play structures, sheds, and more. It can also be applied to roofs after shingles have been removed.

After cleaning surfaces, apply PenaShield to pressure-treated, older wood, or any bare wood you want to last according to label instructions. Many homeowners also use our product as a cedar wood moth repellent.

Shop Available Sizes

Whether protecting wood from termites or facing a larger exterior project, PenaShield offers convenient purchasing options to help reduce waste while providing the amount needed for the job.

Product Information

A borate-based wood treatment offers advantages beyond long-term wood preservation. PenaShield is formulated to deliver practical benefits that simplify application while supporting dependable performance.

Features

  • Ready-to-use formula. No measuring or mixing required.
  • Deep penetration into bare wood.
  • Protection against termites, decay fungi, and more.
  • Best carpenter bee repellent available.

How to Store

Containers must remain sealed. Cool, dry locations provide much-needed consistency. With proper storage, it is easier to maintain borate-based preservatives until your next project.

How to Apply

Results often depend on proper timing. Apply our borate-based wood treatment before stain, paint, or sealer. Allow the surface to dry according to label instructions. Then proceed with the finishing process for consistent coverage.

Maintenance

Inspect treated wood during routine maintenance to identify exposed areas caused by wear or weather. Reapply PenaShield only after the surface has been cleaned and prepared according to label directions.

Regular inspections are necessary to spot hidden problem areas. They also help maintain consistent protection throughout the years.
