Wood Grinding Disks for Log and Timber Surfaces
A rough area on a log is difficult to bring back into shape with a light sanding pass. Wood Shark disks give a high-speed angle grinder the cutting action needed to carve and shape timber. They are also used to remove decayed wood during log repairs.
The cut stays continuous as the tool moves across the surface, giving the operator control while working a contour. This wood cutting grinding disk is intended for the heavier shaping stage, before finer surface preparation begins.

Our wood grinding disks differ by cutting grade and wheel profile. A coarse disk removes wood more aggressively, while a medium disk cuts slower for more control during shaping.

How to Store
A loose wood-cutting grinding disk at the bottom of a tool bag can rub against other hardware. Keep Wood Shark disks in their packaging or a separate compartment, with the cutting surface protected. Choose a dry storage spot and keep heavy tools from pressing against the disks.
Expert Usage Tips
Before mounting a Wood Shark disk, disconnect the grinder from the power source and inspect the wheel for damage. Check the grinder’s instructions for the correct mounting hardware and guard fit. Wear eye protection, and keep the guard in place while the tool runs.
Hold the grinder firmly and work across the area in controlled passes. Pause to check how much wood has been removed before making another pass. Once the rough shape is suitable, switch to sanding for finer surface preparation.
Maintenance
Wood and cured sealant residue can collect on the cutting surface. After use, let the disk stop spinning and disconnect the grinder before brushing away loose buildup.
Check wood grinding disks for damaged teeth or an uneven mounting edge before putting them away. Replace worn disks that no longer cut effectively.
