UV Boost
UV Inhibitor for Wood
UV Boost is a concentrated water-based liquid stain additive that contains a new technology ultraviolet light inhibitor. Some regions of the country, such as the Southeast, Southwest, and higher-altitude areas, are subject to high-intensity sunlight. Over time, the ultraviolet light in sunlight darkens the lignin component of wood.
When added to the first coat on bare wood with any Lifeline wood finish, UV Boost combines with the lignin to delay graying of the wood beneath the stain. Since active components have differing concentrations, be sure to use the appropriate size for the amount of stain or finish you are using.
UV Boost Available Sizes
Perma-Chink UV inhibitor for wood is available in sizes formulated for use with either one gallon or five gallons of compatible Lifeline finish. Because it is a concentrated additive, selecting the correct size matters.
Each container is designed to match a specific amount of finish, helping maintain the proper concentration throughout the coating system.

How to Store
Place our UV inhibitor for wood in a cool, dry location until you are ready to mix. Avoid transferring unused material into other containers. Doing so can make future mixing ratios difficult to verify.
How to Apply
Add the contents to the appropriate amount of compatible Lifeline finish before application. Mix the additive thoroughly into the selected finish. Then follow the application instructions provided.
Maintenance
Label any remaining unopened containers so they stay matched to the correct finish size. Using the proper ratio is important, so keep one-gallon and five-gallon additives separated until they are needed for future projects.
Application Directions
- UV Boost must be in contact with bare wood for it to be effective, it only needs to be added to the first coat of finish. Add to gallons or pails.
