Almost for 35 years, Perma-Chink Systems has firmly rooted itself as the premier provider of cutting-edge log home sealants, stains, and maintenance products. There are myriad reasons why log home manufacturers, builders, and homeowners around the world count on Perma-Chink Systems, Inc. Today Perma-Chink Systems made another step forward toward the environment by offering a 3-year shelf life for all manufactured products. Longevity, or shelf life, is the length of time that a commodity may be stored without becoming unfit for use. The shelf life of our products is an equally important environmental factor in order to reduce the potential impact of undesired disposal that could result from a short shelf life. To maximize your Perma-Chink Systems’ products shelf life, follow these important storage tips:
- Keep containers sealed and unopened to minimize exposure to oxygen and oxidation of the product.
- Store away from windows and direct sunlight.
- Store away from heaters or forced air vents.
- Store away from exterior walls, if possible.
- Store in a controlled temperature environment (50° – 70°F, 10° – 21°C)
Shelf life of a full unopened container is three years (no contamination from potential airborne contaminants). Product from opened containers should be repackaged into smaller plastic containers sized to be ‘full’ of product.

Jack-of-All-Trades in a former life always tinkering with projects around the house. 20+ years working in the trades from Finish Carpenter to Project Manager and 10+ years in the Customer Care and support within the building materials industry. Craig joined Perma-Chink Systems in early 2024 as a Customer Care Specialist and moved up to our Branch Manager position. Craig enjoys assisting customers in learning about the Perma-Chink System products and selecting the right product for their project.

Store History
Sevier County, founded in 1795, is notably comprised of Sevierville, Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. For generations, people have been building log homes in this scenic area. Some of the oldest log homes in the local area are located in Gatlinburg and the Great Smoky Mountain National Park.
In the 80’s, Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg started flourishing; people would come here on vacation to enjoy the diverse local entertainment or enjoy a leisure drive through the Smoky Mountains to experience the picturesque scenery.
In the late 90’s, an increasing number of cabins were being built. Log Home builders and homeowners were in demand of quality products to help preserve the beauty of their log homes. Perma-Chink found it challenging to efficiently service this area, so in April 2001, we opened a store on Dolly Parton Pkwy. This proved to enhance convenience for local builders, homeowners, and surrounding states. In 2003, Perma-Chink decided to build a store and have more products on hand to meet the local demand. We have proudly been a part of the community for 16 years.

Our Perma-Chink Montana location is located in Stevensville, Montana in the beautiful Bitterroot Valley. Situated between the Bitterroot and Sapphire Mountains where the local towns offer the best in community living, arts, culture, history and nature, where the areas are destination for any adventure-loving visitor.
Our beautiful showroom and fully stocked warehouse opened its doors in May of 1997. We’ve been serving the Montana Rockies and beyond for over 20 years anniversary at our location! We service customers across the United States, Canada and abroad. Our commitment level to customer service is our proudest accomplishment.
Principle industries include log home building, wood products and agriculture. Tourism is strong in the Bitterroot Valley, making it ideal for the trade of unique products, art, antiques and locally made crafts. Recreational opportunities are abundant in the valley. They range from miles of trails for skiing, horseback riding, hiking, fishing, and recreational lakes and rivers for boating, swimming and rafting. Furthermore, we are very close to the historic St. Mary’s Mission, and two beautiful wildlife refuges-The Lee Metcalf and Teller Wildlife Refuge.

HBH Chinking
Homeowners Lisa and Donald needed to re-stain their log home, replacing the old oil-based stain. They entrusted their home to HBH Chinking, who took the home down to bare wood. After cleaning the wood with Log Wash, the home was coated with Lifeline Ultra-2 Sequoia and Lifeline Advance.
