49 Years of Family Memories and Perma-Chink Pride in Ennis, Montana

Some homes are more than places to live. They’re where generations of memories are made, traditions are passed down, and a family’s story continues to unfold.

As we celebrate this season of Giving Thanks, we’re reminded that the true value of a home isn’t measured simply by its age or appearance. It’s measured by the people who fill it with life and the care that goes into preserving it for future generations.

For Charlie Kelly and his family in Ennis, Montana, that story began nearly five decades ago.

A Father’s Vision, A Family’s Home

49 years ago, Charlie’s father built a beautiful log home in the Montana countryside. Surrounded by breathtaking scenery and the changing seasons, the home would become a lasting part of the Kelly family’s history.

Charlie recalls that his father always searched for the best products available when building and maintaining his home. Quality mattered to him. He wanted materials he could depend on, products worthy of the time, effort, and care he invested in building something for his family.

One of those products was Perma-Chink chinking.

Today, the home remains a cherished part of the Kelly family’s life. Perhaps most remarkably, Charlie’s mother, now 95 years old, still lives in the home her husband built.

It’s a wonderful reminder that a house built with care can become a legacy that lasts for generations.

Four Decades of Confidence

Montana is known for its spectacular landscapes, but also for its demanding climate. From snow-covered winters to warm summer days, log homes experience a wide range of seasonal conditions.

That’s one reason Charlie’s experience with Perma-Chink means so much to us.

Charlie recently shared that, for 40 years, he has been amazed by how well the chinking has held up and how good it continues to look.

Four decades of changing seasons. Four decades of family memories. And a product that continues to earn the homeowner’s appreciation.

For our team at Perma-Chink Systems, hearing stories like Charlie’s is especially rewarding. They remind us that the products we manufacture become part of something much bigger than a construction or maintenance project.

They become part of people’s homes and lives.

A Tradition That Continues

The Kelly family’s experience with Perma-Chink doesn’t end with Charlie’s childhood home.

Charlie’s sister recently used products from Perma-Chink Systems for her own log home, and according to Charlie, she’s very happy with the results.

There’s something particularly meaningful about that kind of confidence.

A father’s decision to choose quality products nearly five decades ago helped establish a relationship with a family that continues today.

It’s the kind of trust we never take for granted.

Because the best homes don’t just stand the test of time. They become part of the family.
